The Captain is the company's supreme representative on board. As the Captain, you will be responsible for the seaworthiness and safety of the vessel, equipment and all persons on board. You will be in command of the vessel and have full authority over the ship's operation. As the Captain, you will report to the AVP of Nautical Operations & Fleet Captain who handles all routine communications with the vessel and provides voyage and other instructions to the Captain.



Career snapshot:

* Ensures safety of guests, crewmembers and the vessel by enforcing that safety first is above everything and that accident prevention is of prime concern

* Responsible for operating the vessel in accordance with all applicable port, state and international conventions, treaties and regulations, and the company?s Safety Management System, as well as all company policies and procedures

* Accountable for the enforcement of the company?s environmental policies, ensuring compliance with international, national and local environmental requirements applicable to the ship?s operations in addition to working with the shore side corporate office in continuous effort to improve the company?s environmental performance

* Participates and ensure that all Officers participate in planned social activities with the guests and encourage all Officers to maintain a friendly and positive attitude towards all guests on board

* Maintain visibility to guests at the beginning of each voyage and throughout the voyage, including announcements, initial greetings, social activities, etc.

* Provides in hands-on training where appropriate, to the Staff Captain in maneuvering ship handling, in order for the Staff Captain to take command in case of an emergency, in addition to training Deck Officers and Crewmembers
